New Integration Architecture
This app now pulls data directly from source APIs, bypassing Home Assistant/MQTT.
- Consumption: Octopus Energy API (via Home Mini)
- Solar: SolarEdge API (real-time generation)
1. Octopus Energy (Consumption)
Configured in Settings using your API key and MPAN/Serial number. Data automatically syncs into the manager for demand-matching.
2. SolarEdge (Solar Generation)
Direct API integration for real-time solar stats.

Upgrade: EcoFlow Smart Meter
Need more precision? The EcoFlow Smart Meter is an optional hardware upgrade.
- Pros: Exact demand matching, whole-home backup, zero manual intervention.
- Cons: £349 (unit + fitting), 6-9 year payback.
- Note: Not compatible with existing Octopus smart meter/Home Mini, but provides direct-to-EcoFlow data if you need it.
Currently experimental — recommended only if staircase optimization is insufficient.
